Norman's Cove- Long Cove has many defining characteristic geological features. Most of Long Cove and some of Norman's Cove's rocks share the same red colour. These red shales are seen mostly along the shore on the beaches of Long Cove but can be found in other areas too. There are several prominant landforms that can be seen from all around the community, including Chapel Head, which is a a large rock promontory which extends for about a kilometer and a half in Trinity Bay, and the Look Out, which is a large hill that is centered in the town.
